I can’t bring myself to write it down,
To reveal the past that America has trampled upon.
To hide the hate that comes back every other day,
Through East Asian American hate,
Through Islamophobia,
Through Indian stereotypes.
How long must we wait in silence
as another year adds into the decades of pain and torture of innocent people?
A history tainted with the specks of our blood
and the looming silence from the knife
that snatched our loved ones from us.
What has hurt us for years now has to stop.
