Racial Discrimination Against Asians by: Anjileen Ali

iicristeenaii

Everyone, regardless of who they are or where they came from, should be valued.

Many hate crimes against Asians are committed in the United States.

However, Asians endure discrimination not only in the United States, but also

throughout the whole world. Since the spread of Covid-19, the number of

attacks against Asians has grown. Stereotypes are at the root of the majority of

hate crimes against Asians. Many people target Asians because of the negative

notion that Covid-19 originated from Asian countries. Many Asians have been

victims of violence around the world, including verbal abuse, robbery, and

beatings. Asians in the United Kingdom have been insulted and have had many

nasty statements thrown at them, including "Go back to where you came from,"

all in an attempt to blame them for the virus's spread. The crimes were not

simply physical or verbal assault. They have resulted in internalized racism. As

people stopped supporting small Asian enterprises, they declined. As a result of

this negative stereotype, many Asians have been treated unfairly.

Hate crimes motivated by stereotypes have been on the rise for some time. In

the past, the horrific events of 9/11 caused many South Asians and Muslims to

be targeted. After 9/11, hate crimes were committed against many south Asians and

Muslims throughout America. The public stereotypes against them grew to a

high point, and people continue to blame them for 9/11 to this day. When it

comes to a physical perspective, all of these terrible deeds perpetrated against

them can lead to health problems, coma, and even death. As a result of racism

or xenophobia, a variety of factors emerge. They can take the form of physical

harassment, verbal abuse, robbery, and looting directed towards the people who

are targeted, and can even result in a decline of employment for that group.

Asians are treated unfairly all around the world for many reasons due to

stereotypes that convey a negative image of them. To stop the hatred directed at

Asians, action must be taken by people. Having peaceful rallies, signing

petitions, and informing others about the reality about erroneous stereotypes are

some strategies to stop Asian hate.
